Burger City

Burger City is a chain of fast food restaurants with branches located in Dereboyu (Nicosia), Famagusta, Kyrenia, Karakum and Guzelyurt, normally inside Lemar supermarkets. The restaurants are typical fast food outlets, with plastic tables and chairs and most have both indoor and outdoor seating. There are small children’s play areas and toilets and restaurants are suitable for wheelchair users. Childrens’ parties can also be organised with cakes and balloons.

The staff are good with children and generally friendly. The restaurants have takeaway service as well as delivery service between 11am and 10pm.

The menu consists of solely fast food, from small snacks such as onion rings, potato croquettes, to salads such as tuna or chicken, Burger City is great if you are hungry on the run or just fancy a snack between meals. Or if you are hungrier you can choose one of their value meals which include a drink and fries. Value meals include traditional burgers, fish burger, veggie burger and chicken burger. They often do specials where you can get 2 meals for 12TL (approx. £5) or free onion rings if you buy a particular meal. They also offer a children’s menu with a toy and a small selection of desserts such as apple pie or ice cream.

I personally like the chicken griller menu, which is flattened chicken breast with tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise. I find the prices can be fairly high as a medium meal is around 10TL and for the premium meals such as the medium triple griller (3 burgers high) is around 16TL (approx. £4), children’s meals start at 8.50TL (approx. £3.50). Overall, Burger City is good as a treat but I do not think many people could afford to eat there every day, and for a family of 4, I think there are better value for money places to eat in North Cyprus.
