There are many Indian Restaurant on the Island, but the one that stands out to me is Jashans. Not only for its delicious authentic food but also the excellent service they offer. Riaz, the owner, is always around to offer you a very warm welcome.

Situated on the main road in Karaoglanoglu, this restaurant is a popular choice. In the summer months dinning is outside in the garden area where tables are arranged around a feature water fountain and on some nights there is a live singer. In the winter months seating is moved into the small dining area were the ambiance is made cosy with a roaring open fire.

The menu features a full range of Indian and European cuisine, so there is something for everyone. An example of what is offered for main courses are Chicken Butter which is boneless Tandoori Chicken, tossed in a mildly spiced tomato or Lamb Jhalfrazi cooked with tomato and green peppers.

If you choose a curry it will be served in a small copper bowl with a tea light underneath to keep it warm, all the main courses are served with Poppadoms, Biriani Rice and Naan Bread. All dishes can be prepared hot, medium or mild to your liking.

Desserts are on offer, but I have never made it to that stage in the meal as I have always been full after enjoying such a fresh and flavoursome meal.
