China Garden

The China Garden is an authentic Chinese Restaurant serving the best in oriental cuisine. Situated in Catalkoy, opposite the new Lemar supermarket, China Garden has something for everyone.

In the summer months you can sit outside in the beautiful gardens, tastefully decorated in the oriental style. There is an outside bar area with comfortable seating if you would just like a drink or two. During the colder winter months, you can sit inside, enjoy your meal and be warmed by the open fire. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are suitable for the less able and wheelchairs are easily manouvered.

Tariq, the manager of the restaurant, always provides a warm and happy welcome, and the waiters always serve you with a smile and are very accommodating.

The restaurant caters for all tastes and you can choose from an extensive menu. The prices are very reasonable, with a special set menu starting from 25YTL (approx. £11) per person which includes a choice of starter or dessert, choice of main course (not prawn or duck) and then your choice of either rice or noodles. Portion sizes are excellent. Starter prices start from only 5TL (approx. £2), main courses start from 13TL (approx. £5) and deserts from 7TL (approx. £3). Vegetarians are also catered for with dishes such as sweet and sour cabbage, sizzling fish or Chinese vegetarian curry.

I have eaten at the China Garden many times and it is one of my favourite places to eat. Dishes I would highly recommend include Spare Ribs, Guillin Chicken, Crispy Chicken with Ginger and Garlic and for desert their wonderful deep fried ice cream. There have been many requests for the spare ribs recipe and many people have commented that they are the best spare ribs in Cyprus!

China Garden organise entertainment, darts competitions, quiz nights and special menus for Christmas, New Year, Easter etc. They also offer a takeaway service, with 10% off the regular menu prices.  A lunch menu is available, as is a full English breakfast in the mornings.
